Are you self-employed and employed?

So here's a fun fact that people are often surprised to learn about me (Sarah). As well as running my own bookkeeping firm Solstice Bookkeeping, I am also part-time employed! yeah! I have a proper job type job!

For a good portion of the week I'm employed as Head of Accounts for a local events company!

They started as a client but then it made sense for me to go on the payroll.

It can be tricky sometimes to juggle the two, especially when clients call me or need something urgently when I'm at work!

But I was talking to my boss the other day and he was saying that more and more employers are embracing the fact that some employees have other work outside the 9-5 because quite often it can quite often complement and even improve the skills of the employee!
